The Cost of WWll Project 
 
The 10th grade students read multiple texts that demonstrated the cost of war. In an era when war seems to be all around us, a natural state of being, it was important for us, as the up-and-coming youth, to counter the desensitization by learning about the true toll that war takes, not only on the lives that it takes, but on the trauma it gives. Over the past several weeks, we have been reading and analyzing texts that showcase the extreme hardships that people faced as a result of war. For this student-lead project, we were required to create an art piece that depicts one of the various texts with a theme of the cost of war. This project pushed students to think critically and creatively in a way that was both exciting and educational.
